Black Pine Animal Sanctuary
Rescue. Refuge. Education.
Black Pine Animal Sanctuary began in the late 1980s in a backyard, with people who simply couldn’t say no to animals in need.
Today, it’s the only multi-species sanctuary in the Midwest accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries. Home to over 75 animals across 43 species, Black Pine is a true sanctuary—a place where animals live out the rest of their lives free from exploitation, breeding, or trade.
Many of these animals came from heartbreaking pasts—circuses, roadside zoos, and private ownership—and now finally know peace, space, and respect.
This short film shares the heart of Black Pine’s mission: Rescue. Refuge. Education.
